Ed was born in Bennington on Dec. 22, 1970, the son of the late Frances "Bang" and Sharyll (Wager) Bushee. He grew up in Bennington where he attended local schools. He graduated from Mt. Anthony Union High School in 1989 as captain of the football team, an All-State player, and a Twin State Shrine Game selection.
Following high school he attended Schenectady County Community College where he graduated with a degree in culinary arts. He formerly worked as a chef at Alldays and Onions, The Bennington Station, and as a pastry chef at the Williams Inn. He also worked in construction as a mason and as a driver for FedEx and Bennington Furniture.
An outstanding football player throughout his life, he played for The Berkshire Mountaineers and was a captain of the Southern Vermont Storm where he earned all-conference honors. He took conditioning very seriously and assisted the Mt. Anthony football team as strength conditioning coach and had coached the middle school team in 1994. He was a longtime fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Mr. Bushee will be remembered as a humble, hardworking man who was devoted to his family and home life as well as for his outstanding sense of humor. He leaves his wife, Christine (Knapp) Bushee, whom he married Jan. 31, 1996, in Bennington; their children, Samuel Porter Bushee and July Sharise Bushee, all of Bennington, brothers, Douglas E. Bushee and fiancé Victoria Joslin of Pownal, his twin, David E. Bushee and wife Leanne of Bennington; close friends
